The Health and Safety Dashboard Pilot Project
As I wrote about back in June 2024, an innovation I developed called the “Worker Health and Safety Dashboard” won the top prize at SafeCare BC's 2024 “Safety Den” competition! At the time it was just a prototype and with the overwhelming positive feedback I received about the idea at the competition and around the BC Care Providers Conference, I was compelled to develop the prototype into a working Minimum Viable Product (ie. MVP). I came across the firm ZAPTA Technologies and after a number of discussions with their the leadership team I decided to hire their team to start developing the prototype into a web application. We went through 5 “Sprints” between July and November 2024 and completed subsequent testing. Fast forward to today and I now have a working product and am 3 weeks into the Health and Safety Dashboard Pilot Project at Louis Brier Home & Hospital!
While it is a bit too early to determine if the Health and Safety Dashboard pilot will achieve the desired outcomes, primarily to reduce time-loss work-related injuries by increasing the reporting of workplace hazards and incidents, early results are promising. I will write more extensively about the pilot, how it progressed, and key learnings in another post. For now, I wanted to update those who are interested in the Health and Safety Dashboard about this significant milestone as well as share the web application’s promotional website - https://www.healthandsafetydashboard.com/
