Worker Health and Safety Dashboard Wins Top Prize at SafeCare BC's 2024 “Safety Den” Competition!

I’m thrilled to announce that the Worker Health and Safety Dashboard I developed at Louis Brier Home and Hospital won the top prize at SafeCare BC's 2024 “Safety Den” competition!

This innovative tool keeps workers informed about workplace hazards and incidents through real-time data visualizations. Armed with insight, workers can better anticipate risks and prevent work-related injuries.

This experience was a true testament to the motivational and creative benefits of time constraints. I generated the idea and submitted it to the competition at the end of April 2024. In early May I heard back from SafeCare asking if the dashboard was just an idea or if it was currently in use. I told them that it was just an idea but that I could have a prototype developed before the competition. Within 2 weeks we had a working prototype that I was incredibly proud of!

We are very grateful for the $2,000 prize and look forward to using it to further develop the dashboard!

Thank you to SafeCare BC and BC Care Providers Association and congratulations to the other finalists, Eden Garden and Broadway Lodge, for their impressive contributions!
